The 13 ways WATER helps the human body!
As I noted in my previous post, ‘STRESS! We’ve all got it, so what do we do about it?’ I mentioned the tremendous importance of water. Upon researching the material for that post, I came to realize just how essential water is to our overall health and well-being. This post is dedicated to that research as it outlines the vast importance and amazingness of water. Welcome to the 13 ways in which water helps our human body function, feel, and think.
Reason # 1 – Water lubricates our joints.
Reason # 2 – Water keeps our mouth clean.
Reason # 3 – Water promotes skin health.
When we become dehydrated, our skin can become vulnerable to premature wrinkling and skin disorders.
Reason # 4 – Water is an active ingredient in the stuff that helps cushion our brain, spinal cord, and other sensitive tissues.
Reason # 5 – Water is involved in the production of our hormones and neurotransmitters.
Neurotransmitters are a chemical that enables neurotransmission. Neurotransmitters are the component that allows communication to happen between different cells.
Reason # 6 – Water (or being properly hydrated) helps to regulate our body’s temperature.
Reason # 7 – Water is a crucial part for digestive health.
Water helps our bowels function properly and allows the body to flush out its waste. Dehydration in the digestive system can lead to an acidic stomach.
Reason # 8 – Water (or being properly hydrated) helps your body maintain its blood pressure.
Our blood is more than 90% water. A lack of water within our blood can cause it to become thicker, which in turn can increase our blood pressure.
Reason # 10 – Water is essential for the health of our blood.
As stated above, our blood is comprised of more than 90% water. Blood is the way in which our body carries oxygen to all the different parts of the body. As such, it becomes important to make sure your body is properly hydrated so that this essential life system is supported.
Reason # 11 – Our airways need water.
A natural process within the human body is for our airways to restrict in an effort to minimize water loss.
Reason # 12 – Water makes the minerals and nutrients within our body accessible.
This means that it is because of water that these essential components can reach the parts of the body that they need to get to.
Reason # 13 – Water helps prevent kidney damage.
As you can see, water plays a critical role in the health and well-being of our human body.
